Rebecca "Becky" Knosalla

Rebecca (Becky) Knosalla, age 75, of Fargo, died January 8, 2004, in her home. Rebecca was born to Jerome and Frances Haire on March 18, 1928, in Breckenridge, MN. She grew up in Kent, MN, and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1945. After graduation, she attended Western Union Telegraphy school in Fargo. Becky worked as a secretary for George M. Black and William Schlossman. In 1948, she went to work for Arnold A. Welu at Welu Dental Laboratory. She was married in 1951 to Alfred Knosalla at St. Mary?s Cathedral. Becky was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years. Their home was a block from St. Anthony?s Church and school, of which she was very much involved, holding offices in the P.T.A. and St. Anthony?s Guild. She also taught CCD and was a volunteer at the library. Becky was also a Eucharistic Minister at MeritCare Hospital. At the age of 42, and after the death of their youngest child at age 3, Becky went to work in the Business Office at MeritCare Hospital, retiring in 1994. Becky is survived by her son, Paul (Gail) Knosalla, Detroit Lakes, MN; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Knosalla, Fargo; four grandchildren, John, Amy, Thomas, and Paige; three brothers, John Haire, Kent, MN, Richard (Joanne) Haire, Ottertail Lake, MN, and Roger (Carol) Haire, St. Cloud, MN; two sisters, Marion Haire, Fairfield, CA, and Margaret (Merritt) Gust, Castro Valley, CA; sister-in-law, Joanne Haire, Wahpeton, ND; 29 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; three sons, Mark, Tim, and John; her parents, two sisters, and one brother. Becky?s son, Mark Knosalla, also of Fargo, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2004, in his home. Joint services will be held for Becky and Mark.
