Rev. Skibsrud

Rev. Alvin Skibsrud, 92, died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Villa Maria, Fargo. A.O. (Skip) Skibsrud was born January 2, 1915 in Aberdeen, SD to Alfred and Olive (Holgerson) Skibsrud. He was a graduate of St. Olaf College and Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, MN. He married Marian Irene Berg in 1942. Alvin served congregations in St. Hilaire, MN, Pierre, SD, Story City, IA, Tomah, WI, Orfordville, WI, Green Bay, WI, and served as Protestant Chaplain at Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, MT. Alvin was a lifelong lover of his family, the Lord, humor, music, and people of all walks of life. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold and Howard; his sisters Agnes and Lily; and his oldest son, Paul. He is survived by his wife Marian; his sons, Pete, Kalispell, MT, Olaf, West Fargo, ND, John, Deer Lodge, MT, and Jake (Maria), Blaine, WA; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to ELCA Lutheran Global Mission, Bethlehem Lutheran New Hymnal Fund Drive, or donor?s choice. Visitation: 12:00 noon ? 2:00 p.m. ?
