Richard S. Brumfield , 74, of 4783 10th Ave. SW Fargo, ND died Saturday, January 3 in his home under the care of Hospice. Richard S. Brumfield was born to Gene H. and Viola Mae Brumfield in Forman, North Dakota on May 17, 1928. He lived there until moving to Enderlin, ND where he lived until 1951. Dick served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 when he returned to North Dakota. Richard S. Brumfield and Betty Lee Sayler were married on April 1, 1951 in Enderlin ND. Richard studied at the Wahpeton School of Science from 1953 to 1955 when he received a degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating. He and Betty came to Fargo in 1955 when he began work with Bardwell Robinson Co. and was with them until 1965. He then worked for Andersen Windows until 1968. Dick worked for the State Lab in Bismarck, the Cass County Health Department and retired from the City of Fargo Health Department in 1989. He was president of the Fargo Eagles Club in 1980. Hobbies included wood working, bowling, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his Wife Betty Lee, at home Children Richard (Rhoda) Brumfield, Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio Lurale March, Florida Sandra (Terry) Baumgarten, Peoria, Illinois Sister Roberta (Kent) Cable, Grand Forks, ND Brother Roger (Audrey) Brumfield, West Fargo, ND 5 Grandchildren Laura, John, William, Richelle, and Morgan 5 Great Grandchildren He was preceded by his parents, two children Yvonne and Richelle, and great grandson Michael Baumgarten. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. Lutheran Church of the Cross, West Fargo, ND Visitation: Tuesday 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Boulger Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the Church. Burial: Enderlin City Cemetery, Enderlin, ND Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND
