Richard "Dick" Rennich

Richard (Dick) Lee Rennich, 70, of Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, August 31,  2013 at Sanford Palliative Care, surrounded by family.

Dick was born on April 17, 1943 in Mobridge, South Dakota to Fred and Alma Rennich. He grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota with his brothers, Kenny and Jim. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1961. After high school he attended  business school in Aberdeen. On July 27, 1963 he married the love of his life Dee Ann Dulany. They recently celebrated their 50^th wedding anniversary with an open house.

Dick’s work career was spent working for the Nash Finch Company in many locations until settling in Fargo in 1975. He worked for Nash Finch until 2005. In 2004 Dick and Dee moved to their lake home on Lake Lida near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota where they enjoyed good times and great neighbors. In 2010 Dick received an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) at the University of Minnesota. Shortly after, due to health problems, they sold their lake home and returned to Fargo.

Dick’s favorites times were spent  with his children and grand children. He will be greatly missed at family gatherings, sporting events and “Happy Hours”. He also loved playing canasta with dear friends. Dick was an avid fan of all sports-especially the NDSU Bison. Dick’s sense of humor, caring for others and love for family and friends will never be forgotten.

Survivors include  his wife, Dee; three daughters, Jodi (Dave) Nelson, Moorhead, Mn, Jill (Kyle) Janssen and Jan Dodds, Fargo; grandchildren, Dona and Leigha Janssen, Alan Nelson, and Gretchen and Darrin Dodds; brother Jim (Dawn) Rennich, Prior Lake, MN; and many nieces and nephews;

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenny Rennich,and a grandson Justin Nelson.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dick’s #1 “nurse” his wife, Dee; their home care nurse, Paula; U. of M. and Sanford, especially Deb Borgeson and Dr. Guerrero. Also thanks to Palliative Care for making Dick’s last week comfortable for him and his family.
