  14. I know Rick when he worked tirelessly for the development of Moorhead Industrial Park in the 1970s. He relentless sought businesses and industries to build a strong tax base for Moorhead.

As a consultant in Planning and Development for Moorhead I appreciated what Rick was doing so relentlessly. At times he would get frustrated, as many of the city officials expected him to produce overnight results. But he kept on and Moorhead, as a result his work now has a strong mix of businesses in the Industrial Park.

My deepest sympathies go to his family and close friends.

  15. I remember the roasted pig at your lake cabin and the fun Rick and your whole family had hosting it.

As Dad told the story on how he got started as a bankruptcy trustee, they were visiting in Rick’s office and he just picked up the phone and called one of his friends “in the know” and asked how one could get started in this field. Dad then laughed and said that’s Rick, he get’s things done. I know Dad truly appreciated him as a friend.

Prayers and blessings to your family in this time of loss.

  16. Dear Charyl and Family,

We are sending you all our family’s sympathies and prayers during this sad time. I remember Rick as a fun-loving guy when we were at family get-togethers. The last time I saw him was in 2002 in Florida when everyone came to Sue Evenstad’s wedding on the beach. My mother and my brothers Greg and Brian also send their love and prayers. May you feel the comfort that only God can bring during this time.

  17. Sherry and I worked with Rick and the Palmer family at Mick’s South. We have many great memories of being a part of a fun team. My fondest memory of Rick is when I would tell him I was going to do something but had an excuse not to do it. He would stare me down and say,”Pat, do you know what a was gonna is? A was gonna is a nothing!” I could not question that logic! I had to go It done. I always think of Rick when I need to acomplish a task. Rick was a great mentor and will be missed by all. Pat.
