Rob Baumbach

rob baumbach

On April 18, 2010, two angels ascended to the Lord and are with him in Paradise.

Rob and Deb Baumbach were united in marriage on July 15, 1988, soul mates from beginning to end.  Wherever they went and whoever they met, they never met an enemy and always made new friends.  To this wonderful marriage and friendship, two sons were born.  Jory and Nick were the biggest joy to Rob and Deb.  Deb always wanted one more day to cuddle them and kiss them up, but as kids do, they grew up and Rob and Deb reveled in watching and participating in their adventures.  They made sure that they all had lifelong memories in the trips they took, the meals they ate, and the games they played together.  Everyone that walked through their door was a friend forever.

Rob and Deb worked, together, at Federal Express.  Rob was a courier and Deb a service agent.  Rob also worked, in the past, as a diesel mechanic and you could find him most weekends in the garage working on either his cars or a friend's car.  Never one to say no, he fixed many a car.  Deb also worked as a church secretary at Peace Lutheran and then at Faith Lutheran in West Fargo.  Rob and Deb made sure that anyone that needed a ride to church got it, whether they drove themselves or contacted someone else to help.

Surviving Rob and Deb are sons, Jordell Robert (and special friend, Jessica) and Nickolas Jorge, both of Fargo; Deb's parents, Robert and Diane Morgan, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Angie (Marty) Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN and Niki  Anderson(and special friend Tom); Kevin Anderson, Colton, SD.  Deb's brothers, Mike (Fay) Morgan, Pipestone SD and Todd (Sally) Morgan, Pipestone;  Rob's mother, Ally (Pete) Haluska, Harvey, ND; brother, Kevin (Diane) Baumbach, Emerado, ND.  Nephews:  Dustin Baumbach, Oakes, ND, Wayne Baumbach, Fargo, ND, Brandon Baumbach, Minneapolis, MN, Derek Anderson, Colton, SD, Alex Anderson, Colton, SD, Taylor Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN and Brandon Mixell, Sauk Rapids, MN. Also numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friends.

Guestbook

  1. GaI am very sadden Baumbach family. I hope you come together to support and comfort one another during this difficult ime and also turn to the Bible for real hope to see Rob again (Revelation 21:4)

  2. Chester SDMy deepest sympathies to Rob & Deb’s whole family. I went to high school with Deb and remember her continual smile.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  3. Fargo ND
I (Kevin) worked with Rob and Deb for 19 years at FedEx. Rob was a swing driver who could run any route, drive any vehicle, and do it with excellence. He also drove semi and worked at the ramp in Grand Forks earlier in his career. We would sweat together and every now and then play together. Rob was my FedEx “brother” and I know I will see him again. Our Lord has promised this.

  4. Fargo ND
Words cannot express the loss of Rob and Deb. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rob was such a caring person and had a laugh you could not forget, beautiful smile and even a hug for me when I ran into him last year while he was out delivering. He always had time for others. Til we meet again…

  5. Sioux Falls SDRob was one of the nicest, most helpful human beings on this earth. He was the best friend to my brother and sister-law. He was always there when they needed anything. My prayers go out to the entire family and my family who are going to miss him tremendously. Love you all and allow Jesus to give us peace and strength through this all. Jan Gross

  6. Mitchell SDFor 13+ years I spent a lot of time with Rob as we went through kindergarten until our graduation in 1985. When you go to a small school like Bowdon was, you know a lot about each other and you share a lot of memories together. We rode the school bus together, we had the same teachers, and went to the same events. “Rugrat” was always a friend, although I’m pretty sure he hated that nickname! I have so many memories, but that smile of his is what I will remember the most about Rob. He had that smile with a little bit of devilishness in his eyes. Even though I hadn’t seen him in more years than I care to admit, I will miss him I’ll miss the fact that we won’t have the chance to revisit some of those memories of the class of 1985. Rest in Peace my friend.

  7. Fargo I never met these people, but for some reason, I keep getting drawn back here. I think it’s the love of Christ that is so evident – even in their picture. What a beautiful couple, and what a loss to their friends, family, church, and entire community. This is one of those tragedies that you can’t get your mind wrapped around. All you can do is draw deeply from those around you who care, and trust that in some way – far beyond our understanding – God is still on the throne.

  8. Nick I’m praying for you honey . . . you’re a great kid and I can’t even put into words how awful this is . . . I’m not sure anything I could say would make you feel any better but just know you’re in my heart and in my prayers and if you ever need anything don’t hesitate to call . . .

Words just don’t seem adequate in our sympathy for you. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and Keep you all in His peace and strength now and in the months to come.

  16. Luverne MN
I am so sorry for your loss.Deb and Rob were a very special couple. No matter who you were or how well you knew them, they always welcomed you with open arms. They were a true blessing to alot of people. God be with the family and friends of both of these angels.

  17. They will be greatly missed. Working with both Rob and Deb I will have fond memories of the time we worked together. Deb was always supportive of decisions and mistakes I made as a new manager. Rob was always there for support, even if he didn’t agree. They were people that gave rather than take and we on earth are loosing rather than gaining.

  18. Fredericksburg Virginia I enjoyed our visit a few summers back & know you were dear friends of my brother Ken through whom we met. You’ll be missed but not even close to forgotten.

  19. Minneapolis MN
They both will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with both of their sons and their respective family’s.

  20. Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island New ZealandWhat a sad time that such a wonderful man as Rob would be taken from this world, in such a sudden and tragic way. I remember both him and his family, as they helped care for a mutual friend and church member, Dorothy M.

I have since left the FM area and married and living in New Zealand, however, the example of care and concern he showed others I will never forget.

My thoughts and prayers to the children, family and friends of Rob and Deb, he, they, will never be forgotten.

    Sincerely,
    Donna Goomes (Beall)

I am so sorry for your loss. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
    Tammy Geigle
    (Catherine’s sister)

  22. Ames IADeb is my sister Cathy’s best friend. They spoke daily. I grew up knowing Deb as another sister as her and Cathy were never far apart. Deb truly cared about everyone she knew. She had the most beautiful presence I have ever been blessed to be around. I did not know Rob as well, but I know they loved each other. It was apparent when they were together, and even apart. My dear sister. On behalf of the extended Johnson family I am so sorry for the loss. May the peace of God’s love surround you.
