Robert J. Brunelle, 91, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, under the care of hospice.

Robert was born in Horace, ND on February 1, 1922 to Rose and Alphonse Brunelle.  He was educated at St. Joseph’s Academy at Wild Rice, ND.

He married Phyllis Pearson on June 6, 1950 in Des Lacs, ND.  They farmed south of Fargo until his retirement.  Robert was a man of prayer who loved and lived his Catholic faith.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Hickson and Horace Senior Citizens.

Robert is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Steven (Tammy Jo) and their children:  Danielle (Earl) Haskins, Ryan (Amanda) Brunelle, Amy Brunelle and her fiancé, Ryan Semrud, Tyrel Kraft and his fiancé, Christina Toeke, Tanner (Jo Ann) Kraft, daughter, Julie (Timothy) Hoffman and their children; Shannon (Ernest) Tipton, Fr. Jason Signalness, Lauren (Devin) Hillebrand, Ira (Heather) Signalness, Vaughn (Shauna) Hoffman and 13 (soon to be 14) great-grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

  3. Columbus OHUncle Bob was one of the sweetest guys I have ever known. One of my fondest memories was when I was young and our family would go out to Wild Rice for church. Uncle Bob would be singing Ava Maria. What a beautiful voice. I will miss your smile and the hugs.

  5. AMARILLO TXI remember my Uncle Bob especially when I think of growing up and visiting my grandparents at the farm. I loved being there. His smile was infectious and he was always so much fun to be around.
    I was the flower girl at Uncle Bob and Aunt Phyllis’ wedding. I will never forget it!! I even remember the dress I wore. Mom and I and my 2 sisters rode with them to California for their honeymoon. We came along because we were moving to California! Some honeymoon for them!! Three young girls and his sister to content with!
    Even though I had not seen him in a long time, I will miss him, but know he has joined other members of his family at home. Rest in Peace Uncle Bob.
