Robert Carr

Robert passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo at the age of 91, exactly one year to the date of his wife, Bev’s passing. Robert was born on August 2, 1924. He grew up in Minneapolis, MN and enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge he continued his service in the National Guard from where he retired. Robert worked in construction, banking, and was a tax auditor for the State of North Dakota. He also worked for Porter Brothers in Minot as an accountant until his retirement. Robert was united in marriage to Beverly Erickson on May 14, 1948 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo. Following their marriage they made their home in the Minneapolis, MN/Eau Claire, WI areas. The family moved to Minot, ND where they raised their family. They retired and moved to Fargo. Bob and Bev loved camping and took several trips with friends. They were very active in later years with the Silver Follies. He is best known for his humor and kind heartedness and will be sorely missed by his family and the staff at Bethany. Robert is survived by his children – Patricia Myers, Susan (Mike) Lynch, and Thomas Carr, all of West Fargo, ND; his grandchildren – Christina (Peter) Harms, Mark (Rachel) Myers, Jeff (Megan) Cuellar, Nicole (Brandon) Kummeth, and Michael Joseph Lynch; and his great grandchildren – Micha, Tina, Elizabeth, and Hannah Harms; Kaden Kenney, Morgan and Wyatt Kummeth; James, Lila, and Leah Myers; and Kingston Cuellar. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and two sisters; and daughter, Kay Rhinehart.
