Robert G. Fisher, 75, of Fargo, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo. Robert G. Fisher was born on February 2, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to Alex and Martha Fisher. He grew up and graduated from high school in Milwaukee and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee. He then attended North Dakota Agriculture College in Fargo on a football scholarship and was drafted into the Army. He served in Austria during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the Army, he returned to Fargo and graduated from college. He married Jean Ford on August 17, 1957 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they made their home in Fargo. Robert worked at Leo Lumber in West Fargo, was an import manager for Muscatell Chevrolet and was employed with WDAY TV for approximately 18 years. He also worked in free-lance advertising and photography into his retirement years. He was active in several organizations in the community, including Theta Chi, Sertoma Club and Ad Club of Fargo-Moorhead. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Fargo; daughter, Carole (Marvin) Wright of Moorhead; grandson, Callan Wright of Moorhead; sister, Marillyn Meier of Milwaukee, WI; and nephew Robert (Kathy) Meier and their son, Justin of Wauwautosa, WI.
