Robert “Bob” Gisvold passed away December 6, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Robert was born February 4, 1930 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo to Lila and Ralph Gisvold. Bob grew up in Grandin, ND, where is still has many friends. He served in the Korean War in the US army. He moved east to find employment and worked on the Ohio Turnpike until completion. He married Beulah DePugh and later divorced. He moved back to North Dakota and was employed at Robert Gibb and Sons until retirement. It was at that time when he met the love of his life, Rosie Lubenow, with whom he spent every day of the last 25 years of his life. Robert will be missed by dozens of friends and neighbors, who were a constant source of support. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Vernon and Kenneth, and daughter Krista. Robert is survived by his children John Robert “Robbie”, Rhonda, and Douglas, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Ohio, and sisters Donna Nelson of Hillsboro and Bonnie Jacobson of Dilworth. Robert is also survived by his significant other and devoted caregiver Rose Mary (Rosie) Lubenow, her children, Michael, Heidi, and Christopher, and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Grandpa Bob.”
