Robert Lind Hauser Sr. Robert Lind Hauser Sr., 85, was born in Milnor, North Dakota, on July 17, 1922 to Henry and Inga Hauser. He died Tuesday, February 19 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Robert graduated from East Grand Forks High School. He served in the Navy during WWII. Bob went on to get a BS in Mining Engineering from the University of North Dakota in 1947. He married Colleen Mary Bushaw on February 27, 1945 at St Michael?s Catholic Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The couple lived in Grand Forks, until 1973 when they moved to Fargo, North Dakota. Bob studied mining engineering in college, but it was the romance of the steam engine and the lore of the railroad that won him over. His passion for railroading remained with him long after he had retired and was second only to that of his love for his wife Colleen. Bob is survived by his wife Colleen; daughters, Cynthia (Frank) Schulte of Houston, TX, Cheryl (Trygve) Olson of Moorhead, MN, and Lizbeth (Bryan) Hughes of Fargo, ND; and two sons, Robert (Ellen) Hauser Jr., of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Jeffery Hauser of Grand Forks, ND; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Hank Hauser of Eugene, Oregon. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Inga Hauser and his sister Betty (Ken) Hannah. Bob has chosen to be cremated. The memorial service will be on Saturday, February 23 at 10:00 am at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. The family wishes to thank Hospice and the Fargo Fire Department for their assistance. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to Hospice of the Red River Valley whose kind and caring help made it possible for him to die comfortably at home. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Online guest book at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com
