Robert Petrie

Bob passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, at the age of 81. Robert was born on October 13, 1938, the son of Walter and Clara (Beckman) Petrie in Hillsboro, ND. He grew up in the Blanchard area where he received his education. Bob proudly served his country in the United States National Guard from 1964 until his discharge in 1970. Robert was united in marriage to Katherine Johnson on June 27, 1961. Following their marriage they made their home in Grandin before moving to Blanchard in 1969 where they raised their family. Katherine passed away in July of 1984. Bob moved to Hillsboro in 2002 and had most recently made his home at the Hillsboro Nursing Home for the past two years. Throughout his career, Bob worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Ellingson, Northern Improvement, and Haggart. Bob is survived by his three children – Lisa (Matt) Melander of Hunter, ND; Steven Petrie of Fargo, ND; and Denise (Jeff) Henn of Blanchard, ND; his grandson, Christopher Petrie of New Town, ND; and two great-grandsons Sawyer Petrie and Fletcher Petrie. Also surviving are his sisters – Bonnie Anderson of Hillsboro, ND; and Connie (Duwayne) Schroder of Ada, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Katherine.
