  5. Elko MN
I went to school with Bob (Pflipper) at UND, and was his brother at Delta Tau Delta. I still remember the day he came to the house to see what joining a fraternity was all about. He came to my room while getting a tour of the house. That smile of his was in full gleam and how can you forget his laugh. From that day on he was apart of my life and when ever we got together for whatever reason he always brought his smile and laugh which would bring a smile to everyone’s face. He was just one of those people that had that something special that made every get together that much better. It did not matter if it was crossing paths to and from class or getting together with all the guys for night of fun. It’s amazing how many good memories I have about Pflipper and they all bring a smile to my face.

  6. South St. Paul MN
I am going to miss Bob so much. He was the kindest friend you could ask for. He alway put everyone else ahead of himself and was great to be around at all times. Bob was my Minnesota
Wild hockey buddy this year. I tried so hard to convert him over to becoming a hockey fan -) I think it worked cause we bought jerseys together and was even starting to pick up on the rules…. It’s pretty cool how much he loved his dog, peaches… That shows you how great of a guy/friend he was by the way he treated his dog…

  7. Apple Valley MN

I will see you again Flipper, just not yet. In the words of Flipper, “God Bless”, you will be missed my friend and brother.

  9. Marietta GeorgiaTo the Pflipsen family, I am very sorry about the loss of a caring, good, cheerful man in Bob. As a fraternity brother at Delta Tau Delta at University of North Dakota
, I remember many late nites talking, having some cold beverages, and having a great time with Bob. He always brought laughter and an upbeat, relaxed tone during the stressful times in college. He will surely be missed.

    Your fraternal brother, Adam Grissom

  10. Lakeville MN
    Dear Pflipsen family,

My name is Bryan Otremba and I was and Still am one of Bob’s (flipper)fraternity Brothers. I met Bob in 1995 at the university of ND
. Bob was staying in the fraternity and had the room next door to mine. Matt Osting was his roommate at the time. I was a young freshman and seemed to get in trouble a lot. Bob took me under his wing and always put me back on the right track. There were several times when he would see me heading the wrong direction with School, or partying too much. He would pull me aside and quitley let me know that I was screwing up up and set me straight. He always did it in a quite mannor as to not call me out of the crowd. I looked up to Bob and to this day I am forever greatfull for who he was and what he did for me. I learned a lot from Bob. He was one of the funniest guys I knew. He always had a funny come back to a situation he was in. And let’s not forget the time he and Travis Wood left for a week of fun and adventure down to Minneapolis. We couldn’t find either and when they came bacck the stories went on for days. He is part of who I am today. Bob will forever be in all of our hearts and thoughts. Please take some comfort in knowing he will never be forgotten.

    Sincerely,

    Bryan Otremba
    Delta Tau Delta Brother

I have known Bob for nearly 15 years, he was a fraternal brother, a golf partner, a jokester and a very dear friend. There aren’t too many people that come along in our lives that make as much of an indelible impact as Bob did. His passing came far too early but I will forever remember his goofy smile, his imfamous nicknames, his free spirit and his knack for endearing everyone who came in contact with him. He truly was a special individual, a dear friend and a great human being, we will all live on with the memory and a little piece of Bob in each of us who have known him, not to mention a million great stories about the legend that was Bob Pflipsen.

    Take Care,

    Jack Rassier

You have my deepest sympathies and prayers. Bob was a good friend and a great person. I met Bob when I was a freshman at UND. We were Delt brothers and Bob really made me feel at home. Later, at the slightest mention of my interest in moving to Minneapolis, Bob instantly offered me a job with Signature on the spot. Both testiments to the person he was, always willing to help a friend. He will be missed.

I wish I would have known sooner..

I was his HR Assistant @ASIG…
His laugh was the best, You could hear him a mile away…
    He always made me laugh.

We kept in touch after he left to go work for the state, kept telling each other that we had to get together for dinner, but we could not find the time.

My thoughts and Prayers are with you & your family.

Please let me know if i can do anything.

I want to offer my most sincere sympathy to the entire Pflipson family, especily Mary Jo, Gary, Bill & Juli, and Bryan. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I always have had, and will continue to have the fondest memories of Bobby growing up next door in Bismarck. Sometimes life doesn’t seem to be fair. It is so unfortunate that we have to lose someone so young and vibrant. Bobby grew into such a fine young man. The last time that I saw him, was at Pat & Kela’s wedding. We talked about our mutual interest in golf, and agreed that we’d attempt to get together and play in the near future. I will regret for a long time that I never had the opportunity to play golf with Bob.

You can take comfort in knowing that Bobby is in good hands. I’ll bet he is posting a bunch of birdies and Eagles on that heavenly scorecard.

Best wishes to all of you. Treat yourselves well.

    Jim

Gary, Mary Jo, Steve, Bill, and Brian,

I was stunned to hear about Bob. I can’t imagine the hole in your hearts and lives that his passing has left. I am unable to attend services tomorrow, but know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow.
May God above give all of you the strength to move forward and beyond these very trying times.
We certainly don’t know what God’s purpose and meaning for this is, and it definitely seems to be the wrong order for these things to happen, but someday you will know why he has put your family through this tough time. Until then, know that the love of your friends and family is there for you, and that we are praying for you.

  40. Barnesville MN
With deepest condolences to the family. Although we never had the opportunity to meet Bob, his mother always spoke highly of him and his brothers. I wish we had of been able to meet him.

  41. Remer MnI have only known Bob for a short time, working with him on labor relations for the State Courts. I enjoyed his gentle, straight-forward manner, his love of life and genuine smile. He definitely was one of the “good guys” and I will miss him.

  42. Fruita ColoradoOur hearts are broken and the pain is unbearable at time. There is one story that Gary (Bob’s dad) has told me over and over again about Bob when he was just a little guy. Gary, Bob and Grandpa Bergman were golfing at Detroit Lakes. It was Bob’s turn and he gets up to swing-either he misses it or it goes in the wrong direction–all of a sudden Bob throws his club and starts jumping up and down on his little golf bag and takes off running all the way back to the cabin. In the back ground you can hear Grandpa Bergman yelling “Bob, you get back here right now !!” Maybe that was the beginning of Bob’s love of golf ! He will be missed greatly the rest of our lives.

  43. Rapid City South DakotaDearest MaryJo,

Mum just called and told me the sad news about your son. I wish we could be there for you. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

    With love,

    Lisa and Robert

    Love,
    Merry Hook
