Robert E. Williams died peacefully at his home in Fargo on Friday, August 26, 2005. Bob was born on January 29, 1920 in Wellsburg, ND, the son of Joseph and Ella Williams. His family moved to Harvey, ND where he graduated from high school in 1937. He entered college at NDSU in 1938. He was commissioned as an officer in the Army in 1940 and served during World War II for 4 years, attaining the rank of Captain. Bob married Helen Mary McDonald in 1942 at Fort Lewis, Washington. After the war, he returned to NDSU and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Ulteig Engineering for three years. He then formed his own business, Robert E. Williams, Consulting Engineer, where he worked for the remainder of his career. Bob?s greatest love was his family. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Wilma. He is survived by his wife, Helen Mary Williams, Fargo; his four children: Mary Jo (James) Driscoll, Marquette, Michigan, Margey Beauchman, Fargo, Rob (Gail) Williams, San Diego, California, Jim (Bobbie) Williams, Roseville, MN; his sister, Irene Einspahr, Iowa City, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Kathy, Steve, Debbie, Tim, Mark, Jake, Eric, Bridget, Chris, and Jon; 9 great grandchildren: Jon, Phillip, Zak, Taylor, Sam, Emma, Sierrah, Sloane, and Chloe. Visitation: Wednesday 5-8 p.m. - Boulger Funeral Home and Thursday in the church one hour before the funeral service. Prayer Service: Wednesday 7 p.m. - Boulger Funeral Home Funeral: Thursday 1 p.m. - St. Paul?s Newman Center, Fargo Burial: Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN at a later date.
