Rodney Louis Anderson, 76, Fargo, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, after a long struggle with cancer.
Rod was born in Barnesville, MN, on April 11, 1927, the son of Julian and Augusta (Larson) Anderson. He graduated from Fargo Central High School. He also graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1952. He served one year in the Army in 1946. He retired from United Blood Services in 1992. Rod donated 33 gallons of blood in his lifetime.
Rod married Delores Westlund in 1953. She died in 1970. He married Phyllis Nord in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Fargo; one daughter, Pamela, Moorhead, MN; two stepdaughters, Cindy (Bob) Lunneborg, Fargo, and Judy (Ron) Samshal, Moorhead; one sister, Beth (Rev. Charles) Bunnell, Chatsworth, CA; three brothers, Keith (Lauretta), Hilton Head Island, SC, Kenneth (Marian), Crookston, MN, and Dick, East Grand Forks, MN; and two step grandchildren.
Rod was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores; his parents, two brothers, and two infant sons.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in First Methodist Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
