Ronald Mehl, of Hillsboro, ND, died on Sunday, November 14, 2004, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital at the age of 91.
Ronald was born on October 15, 1913, near Lisbon, ND, the son of Rudolph and Clara (Gilbertson) Mehl. He grew up in this area and attended school. Ronald worked for an implement dealer in Lisbon prior to moving to Hillsboro with his family in 1939. They ran the Gambles Hardware Store in Hillsboro for a number of years before closing in 1967. Ronald was united in marriage to Clarice ?Kelly? Hausmann on June 6, 1969, in Hillsboro. They made their home in Hillsboro and he worked for the Hillsboro Medical Center for over 29 years in the maintenance department.
Ronald was a very active member of the Hillsboro Community where he was involved in the Hillsboro Kiwanis Club, the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge, a charter member of the Hillsboro Ambulance Squad, and a longtime member of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church. Ronald also kept very busing helping friends, family, and neighbors, with projects they had. He had a gift to be able to fix anything that was in need. He will be missed for his soft spoken, kind nature, that everyone knew him by.
Ronald is survived by his step sons, Paul Hausmann of Hillsboro, ND; and Charles Hausmann of Virginia Beach, VA; his 4 step grandchildren, Christopher, Charles, Clarice, and Matthew; his sister, Ruth Gunderson of Fargo, ND; and his brother, Allan Mehl of Denver, CO; and his one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.
VISITATION: 4-7 PM Wednesday at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro – and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday
MASONIC SERVICE: 7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home
FUNERAL: 2 PM Thursday at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro
BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
