Ronald died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his home in Fargo surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Hospice.

Ronald was born on April 2, 1942, the son of Charles and Emma (Marsh) Ridl, in Dickinson, ND. He grew up in the New Hradec, ND area and attended country school near the family farm.  He later attended Sts. Peter and Paul boarding school in New Hradec.  Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard for over 20 years. Ronald was united in marriage to Jean Ann Polensky on October 13, 1964. Following their marriage they made their home in Spokane, WA before returning to North Dakota in 1974. Ronald enjoyed his jobs over the years on the family farm, working as a printer for various newspapers, and most recently driving truck seeing much of the country.

Throughout his life, Ronald loved traveling seeing the country, listening to old time music, working on model cars, and collecting John Wayne memorabilia.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Jean Ann; his children- Jeanine Ridl, Kristina Perdew, Ronald Ridl Jr., Kimberly Ridl, and Damian (Meg) Ridl; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and his sisters, Margaret (Leo) Aspenleiter and Grace (Warren) Rhodes.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Bridget (Laudie) Havelka and Rosemary (Steven) Demaniow; and his great grandson, Dylan.

    I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Ron’s passing. You have my deepest sympathy. I will not be able to make the burial as I have to be in Grand Junction, CO for work.

    Sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, father, and grandfather. I knew Ron from the Guard in Dickinson, ND
    , him and I worked together cooking the meals for the soldiers of Company D 164 Engr Bn. May the Lord grant you the peace and comfort afforded by him, and he is now in the bosom of his Lord resting peacefully. Take comfort in prayer and trust in the Lord.
