    Harpers Ferry WVDear Harmon Family,

I was away on leave when I got the news. My sincere condolences.

Royce was a fine man. We had the Outer Banks in common. He loved to visit the beaches there and we talked about how beautiful a place that part of North Carolina was. We also had similar veteran experiences in common as well. Royce had a good sense of humor and was always an upbeat guy. He was great fun to talk with and served his nation well. I will remember him fondly.
