Ruby R Zvirvoski, age 86, Fargo ND died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in her home surrounded by loved ones after a short bout with cancer. Ruby was born November 26, 1934 in Casselton ND to Woodrow and Freeda Kundert. She graduated from Central High School in Fargo ND and on January 20, 1954 married Edward Zvirovski. Together they raised 7 children and enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage. Ruby was a lover of people and nature. She loved to welcome anyone into her home at anytime to include them into the event at hand. Anyone who met her felt a warm welcome of acceptance immediately. She enjoyed participating in her hobbies of fishing, hunting, knitting, birding, bowling, playing music, and performing in the theater. But her biggest enjoyment was spending time in the garden and watching the vegetables produce and the flowers bloom. At one time she had an iris patch, her favorite flower, of over 300 different varieties that would be in full bloom near the roadside every spring. It was the envy of everyone who passed and many had to stop by and take a closer look, where she was more than happy to partake in a tour. Ruby is survived by her husband Ed, her brother Ellery Kundert and her children Richard (Gwen) Zvirovski, Fargo ND, Michelle (Duane) Kliem, Carrington ND, Jim (Kathi) Zvirovski, Pelican Rapids MN, Robert (Ali) Zvirovski, Tampa FL, and John (Mark) Zvirovski, Jamestown ND. Two grandchildren, Ryan Kliem and Jeremy (Jess) Kliem and four great-grandchildren, Hannah Kliem, Natalie Kliem, Sierra Kliem and Teagan Kliem. Sister-in-law Kathleen Kundert and two nieces Robin (Marc) Lewison and Dawn (Mark) Johnson. Ruby was proceeded in death by her parents and two daughters, Diana Kay and Tina Marie. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of her passions, The Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society, where she was a long time member and participant in their events. 1. I have wonderful memories of being at my grandma ( Margaret Schulz) cabin on Lake Lizzie, next door to Freeda and Woody, the Zvirvoski family and Elroy.

My sincere sympathies to all those that love her and will miss her.

  2. My deep condolences to the Zvirovski family upon the loss of Ruby. She was one of the first to welcome me to the Golden Notes Band; and since I sat behind her more often than not, I truly enjoyed her up-beat presence. I didn’t know her at the time but also had been a great admirer (and envier) of that super gardener way up on the north side of Fargo. May the grief you now feel be softened a bit by all the wonderful memories you have from yesteryear.

  3. The world will now shine less brightly. May your joyful memories comfort you especially now. Your family is our family. Thank you for sharing with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  15. Mr. Z, Rick, Michelle, Jim, Robert and John – I just learned about Ruby’s passing. It makes me so sad for all of you to have lost her presence here on earth. I just know that Diana and Tina, my ‘bestest’ childhood friend, were there to greet her as she passed. There isn’t a time when I go to my dad’s house next door to your former house on 17th street that I don’t think of all of you, but especially Mrs. Z greeting me as only she did, “Hello, Jane Elizabizza!” I know you will miss her. I’ll tell my mom to put on the coffee pot up in heaven. Jane (Davis) Olson
