Rudolph (Shorty) J. Christensen, age 73, died on June 12, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND. He was born in Cooperstown, ND on December 26, 1941, the son of Hans and Minnie Christensen. He grew up on a farm SE of Dazey and attended Bennett Country School and Dazey Public School graduating from North Central High School in 1960. Shorty entered the Army in 1961, served in West Germany and West Berlin, and was honorably discharged in 1963. He went to work for Surplus Tractor in Fargo until 1983, when he accepted a Sales Manager position with S. Cohn & Sons in Indianapolis.
He married Delores (Susie) Myers on June 19, 1965. They made their home in Fargo until 1984 when they moved to Indianapolis. Shorty returned to Fargo when he retired in 1998.
He is survived by his son, Dale (Chantell), daughter, Janine Walker, three grand-children, Jordon Christensen, Tyler Walker, Cara Walker, and a great-grandson, Ilias Christensen. He is also survived by a brother, LeRoy (Pat) Christensen, mother-in-law, Lila Myers, sisters-in-law, Gloria Ochsher, Janice Myers, Darlene Christensen, brother-in-law, Curtis (Betty) Myers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, his parents, Hans and Minnie Christensen, father-in-law, Glen Myers, brother, Lyle Christensen, and brother-in-law, Alvin.
Graveside Services will be held on June 18 at 2pm at the Dazey Cemetery.
