On January 5th, 2021 our world lost a bright star. Ruth Ann Holman, beloved daughter of James and Barbara Holman was born December 27th, 1963 in Moorhead, MN. She grew up and was educated in Fargo, ND. In 1986 she earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and elementary education from Concordia College. She found her true purpose to be a mentor and caregiver bringing hope and quality of life for many patients. Ruth was always quick to help with sharing love, laughter, and advice. Ruth was employed at The Neuropsychiatric Institute in Fargo for 8 years. She was an amazing mother to her many talented daughter Elisabeth M. Sondrol whom she homeschooled until 2014. Prairie St. John’s Hospital offered Ruth her next opportunity for 3 ½ years. Ruth is survived by mother, Barbara Holman; daughter, Elisabeth Sondrol; sister, Risa Holman (Morrie Forsgren); sister, Pam Samuelson (Steven Cole); nephew, Tyler Forsgren (Ellie); niece, Alyssa Oberg (Jeremiah); great nephew, Oliver Oberg; significant other, Robert Johnson; many cousins, uncles, and aunts. Ruth is preceded in death by: father, James Holman; grandfather, Harley Horken; grandmother, Corinne Horken; great aunt, Charlene V. Horken. Ruth’s love and memories will be with us forever. A celebration of life is planned for Spring.

  7. I am so sad to hear of Ruth’s death. I have many fun memories of Ruth from childhood and beyond. She was always so friendly, kind, and warm. I’m thinking of and praying for Ruth’s whole family, Elisabeth, Barb, Risa, and Pam. Love to you all. May God bring you comfort in this difficult and very sad time. I will watch for the service this spring.

  8. I enjoyed watching movies and eating popcorn with Ruth. She loved to laugh and have fun with her friends. She will be missed by many!
