Ruth Radcliffe was born on May 31, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Sprague) Radcliffe near Leonard, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Leonard, attended country school, and graduated from Leonard High School. They made their home in the Leonard-Kindred area where they raised their family and farmed for many years. After their retirement in 1979 they moved to West Fargo. Lester passed away in 2004 and Ruth moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to her daughters. She most recently made her home at Clare Bridge in Eagan, MN.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Judy (Gary) Anderson of Andover, MN; and Shirley (Mike) Gulsvig of Eagan, MN; her grandchildren, Jenna (Bryan) Kocon of Atlanta, GA; Phylane (Jason) Slutzky of Part Washington, WI; and Matthew Gulsvig of Lincoln, NE; and her great grandchildren, Tyler and Kayla Kocon; and Sawyer Slutzky. Ruth and Lester were some of the best neighbors ever! They had all sorts of love for the kids in the neighborhood! Now they are together again.
