She attended twelve different schools through her twelve years of schooling, in both Fargo, ND and Des Moines, IA. Ruth was among the first graduating class of South High School in Fargo in 1968. She worked at the Cass County Abstract Company from 1967-1978 while she was in high school and continued working there after high school and became a licensed abstractor, the first one to take the abstractors test. She then worked at Dawson Watson Insurance Company from 1978-1982, as a receptionist. From 1982-1985 she was an appointment secretary for thirteen doctors at The Psychiatric Associates. From 1987-2000, she was employed at Anderson and Bottrell Law Firm as a receptionist/secretary. From 2001 until her retirement in 2011, she worked at Ohnstad Twichell Law Firm in West Fargo in accounts payable and as a receptionist.

Ruth loved to scrapbook, travel, especially hiking in the state parks in Minnesota and North Dakota. She also liked jewelry, watching movies, and eating chocolate.

She was privileged to fly with Jim in their Piper Tri-Pacer Airplane, a Blanik Glider, and a Cessna 180 Airplane and participated in great adventures flying to wilderness areas in Montana, Idaho, Washington, Orcas Island, Alaska, and Minnesota.

Ruth enjoyed traveling to exotic places, with Jim, to Iceland, Switzerland, France, Austria, Liechtenstein, West Germany, East Germany (before the wall came down). They also traveled to Norway, China and Cancun, Mexico. She also visited Grand Cayman Island, B.W.I., her favorite place in the world, where she loved to snorkel in the turquoise waters, with her friend, Lorr Evert. She visited New Zealand, Australia and Fiji with her cousin, Janet and her husband, Ted Paterson to visit her cousin, Jay Handel.

She is survived by her husband, James Reimers; three sisters, Esther Grossman of Fargo, ND; Neomie Morris, of Moorhead, MN; Mary (Mark) Jensen of Maricopa, AZ; 11 nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; 8 great-great-nephews; and 6 great-great-nieces.
