Celebration of Life Samuel “Kelly” Caywood Samuel Douglas Caywood, better known as Kelly Caywood, aged 54 and resident of Perley, MN, received his Heavenly reward on November 23, 2020, in Fargo, ND. He was born May 7, 1966, in Baytown, TX. His parents were Vernon and Virginia Downing. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara Caywood, on July 13, 2002. Kelly’s life was an example of hope in a desolate lifestyle. He started down a road of drug addiction and prison sentences at the age of 12. At 33, when facing a life sentence, Kelly turned to God and it forever changed the course of his life. After his last prison sentence, he began attending church, married, and ran a successful construction company. In 2009, he answered the call of God on his life and began evangelizing full time, traveling across the country to spread the Gospel of Jesus and share the message of hope everywhere he went. He then pastored in Alliance, OH, from 2013 to 2014, before moving to Moorhead, MN, to assume the pastorate of LifePoint Sanctuary where he remained until death. He was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International. Those who know Kelly, know that he loved God, loved his wife, and loved people with a passion. He had a big personality, and you always knew he was in the room with his boisterous voice and constant joking. His favorite saying was, ‘If nothing changes, nothing changes.’ He believed in people, and was for the underdog. His legacy lives on in the numerous lives that he touched. Kelly is survived by his wife, Barbara Caywood; mother, Virginia Downing; sisters, Crystal Davis (Guy Davis), Tessy Brooker (Damion Brooker), and Victoria Souza; brother, David Downing; cousins, Jimmy Rice, Greg Rice, Robby Bounds, Regina Green, Michael Trousdale, Charlotte Skillings, Michelle Campbell, Steven Saunders, and Kimberly Tompkins. He was proceeded in death by father, Vernon Downing; biological mother, Barbara Souza; grandfather, OB Laird; and grandmother, Oma Lee Williams. Memorial services will be: November 28, 2020, 2PM, at Northview Church, Fargo, ND, officiated by Rev. Ron Lichtle. December 5, 2020, 1PM, at Apostolic Temple, Pasadena, TX, officiated by Rev. Orlin McClain.
