Selina J. Kaiser passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born November 29, 1916, the daughter of H.P and Edla Juntunen.  She graduated from Rolla High School and later graduated from Interstate Business College.

Her first employment was with Western Newspaper Union.  She met her future husband, Leo Kaiser, while dining a local boarding house.  After two years of meeting over dinner, they were married on April 23, 1939. She and Leo travelled together while Leo was working as an employee of Kinney Shoes.   During the war she worked for Bill Schonberg, who was a manufacturer’s representative.

After the birth of their son, Marvin, Sally enjoyed her time as a stay at home mom, while also being in partnership with Leo in Kaiser Shoes in Moorhead and later the Red Wing Shoe Store in Fargo.

Sally was very active in the volunteer community.  She valued her time serving on the executive committee of the Red River Valley LCA Synod, the YWCA board and Republican Women.  Sally was a very long time volunteer for St Luke’s Hospital.  She treasured the relationships that came from those associations and they appreciated her intellect and directness.

She is survived by her only son, Marvin, and his wife, Jane,  children, Elizabeth (aka Gus) and Charles of Prescott AZ; granddaughters, Shannon Street (Shane) and Susie Posey, great granddaughters Kaitlin and Gracee Street, and Piper Posey, all of Austin TX; Nieces Ruth (Dale) Overton of Cando, Dorothy (Leland) Lipp, of Grand Forks, David (Sue) Juntunen  of Amidon, Curtis (Heather) Juntunen of Rolla, Margie (Cary) Hande of Amidon, sister-in-law, Mary Juntunen,  many great-nieces and great-nephews, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews of her husband, Leo, most of whom reside in Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by parents, H.P and Edla Juntunen, husband, Leo Kaiser, brothers, Wesley and Oscar Juntunen, sister-in-law, Martha (Mickey) Juntunen and nephew, Wesley Juntunen.
