Sharon Kenney

January 14, 1945 - March 28, 2013


Sharon E. Kenney, 68, Fargo passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo.

Sharon was born January 14, 1945 in Moorhead, MN to Alva and Adeline (Siedschlag) Garman. She grew up in Moorhead, where she attended school before moving to West Fargo.

On September 19, 1959, Sharon married Quentin “Larry” Kenney in Sisseton, South Dakota.

When Sharon’s and Quentin’s 4 children were in school Sharon decided to go to work. Over the years she worked at the Biltmore Motel, Powers Hotel, General Nutrition Mills, Country Greenery, Kelly Inn, Stone Container and Red River Commodities.

In her 50’s Sharon went back to school and received her diploma then went on to college and received an associate’s degree in Marketing.

Sharon really enjoyed SHOPPING, Bingo and Bowling where Sharon and Quentin won numerous bowling titles. She loved a good conversation; she could spend hours talking to family and friends on the phone.  Sharon and Quentin enjoyed traveling, taking several trips to California and Alabama. Her family and holiday gatherings were her passion. She also loved any type of flower and plants, making her husband plant many of her “purchases.”

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Quentin, Fargo; children, Francine Kenney-Webber, Fargo, Larry Kenney, Fargo,  Scott Kenney (Jody), Fargo, Daughter-In-Law; Tammi Kenney,  Fargo, siblings; Wayne Garman (Karen), Crescent City, OR, Cheryl Garman-Hellerud, Anaheim, CA, Judy Garman, Anaheim, CA, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild excepted in July.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Kenney, brothers, LaVerne Garman and Lenus Garman.

    From the entire staff at Red River Commodities, we extend our deepest sympathy in the loss of Sharon. She was such a pleasant lady and handled her last months with such dignity. She clearly loved her family so much and I hope that the coming days can be filled with fond memories of her exceptional life. God bless her memory and her family.
