Tate Wayne Donovan, 46, of Nunn Colorado, formerly of Kindred, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home.
Tate was born November 27, 1968 to Shirley Donovan and the late Dennis Donovan. He grew up in Kindred and participated in Football and Wrestling. He graduated from Kindred High School in 1987. Tate worked for Kindred Plumbing and Heating before moving to Minneapolis where he became a hairdresser. While in Minneapolis, Tate met and married Oakley Gardner. Tate and Oakley moved to Colorado where he found a love for hiking, rock and ice climbing, kayaking, and became an avid hunter. Tate has worked as a Lineman and Foreman for the last 19 years for Selcon Utilities. Tate was remarried in June 2011 to CJ (Kloberdanz) Donovan on his ranch in Nunn, CO. There Tate enjoyed horseback riding, raised two dogs Gus and Tin Tin that he loved dearly, and found his passion as a true Cowboy. He started annual Elk hunting trips to Gunnison, CO and La Veta, CO with a group of his buddies in 2006, he was believer in good friends and great family. Tate was involved in the Nunn community as a wrestling coach, volunteer firefighter and an EMT.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Donovan; siblings: Kim (Debbie) Olson, Pam (Kevin) Heiden, Tads Bork, Kathy Olson, Kim Donovan, Tamie Brossart; 2 stepsons: Ryan Grotts and Kellen Smith; 11 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and nephews.
Tate was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Donovan; grandparents: Emerson and Mary Donovan, and August and Gladys Kelting.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2015 with a visitation One hour prior to services at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel in Kindred.
