Terrance (Terry) Joseph Thomason, Sr. of Glyndon, MN passed away on September 11, 2020 under the care of Sanford Hospice with his family by his side. Terry was born on January 21, 1942 to Elmer and Florence (Fitzsimmions) Thomason. Terry grew up in Lisbon, ND and was the youngest of nine siblings. Terry served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Buck. He also served in the North Dakota National Guard. Terry married the love of his life Florence Owens and together they raised eight children. He had many careers throughout his lifetime. He worked for Moorhead Public Service for 36 years before retiring. Terry enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sporting activities. He enjoyed traveling with his family. He had a love for doing outdoor activities and preferred a shovel over a snowblower. He enjoyed being a carpenter as a hobby and remodeled many houses. Carpentry was a skill that he taught his children. He believed that if you wanted a job done right do it yourself. Terry was an active member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Glyndon Township board. He is survived by his wife Florence, six children: Marcella, RJ, Matthew (Jill), Terry, Jr. (Rebecca), Aaron and Gabe (Christine). Grandchildren: Brittani, Zach (fiancee McKenzey Olson), Alex, Sophia, Maranda, Savana (Austin Loberg), Mattison, Zane, Alexis (Jordan Hagen), Etta and Izzy. Great-grandchildren: Amaris and Aubrie. His sister Rita Cole. Terry was preceded in death by his children Christopher and Raphael Thomason, his parents Elmer and Florence and six brothers Elmer, Eldred, Leo, Vincent, Bernard, and Michael. Two sisters Leota Aberle and Mary Lou Pouliot. Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Dilworth, MN from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, September 18, 2020. The prayer service will follow at 7 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Dilworth, MN at 10 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Due to COVID masks are required. Burial will be at Saint Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Lisbon, ND. The funeral will be live streamed on St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church 207 Main St N, Dilworth, MN 56529
