Terry F. Beach, 60, passed away April 17, 2011 at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Terry F. Beach was born in Fargo, ND to Bernard and Lorraine (Montplaisir) Beach on May 11, 1950.  He attended Kelso Public School, Kelso, ND though third grade and then attended Hillsboro Public School, Hillsboro, ND graduating in 1968.  He attended NDSU, Fargo graduating with a teaching degree in 1973.  Terry married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Rohman) on September 18, 1970 in Hillsboro.  They lived in Fargo before moving to Moorhead, MN in 1975.

Terry joined the Moorhead Fire Department in 1975.  He worked his way through the ranks retiring as Assistant Fire Chief in 2004.  Terry was a substitute teacher with Moorhead Public Schools from 1975 through 2010.

Terry enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, hiking, gardening and sightseeing with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his wife, Trish; two daughters, Laura (Eric) Slicer, Moorhead, MN,  Sally (Scott) Hersrud, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Emily and Maxwell Slicer, Miles, Leo and expected grandson Hersrud; four brothers, Claude (Marilyn), Tim (Peggy), Bob (Ximena), Jeff (Sarah); four sisters, Sandra (Dennis) Brase, JoEllen (Gary) Harris, Teresa (Dan) English, Susan (Bruce) Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lorraine; brother, Stephen; and niece Megan Brase.

  1. MN my thoughts and prayers go to family freinds very sorry to here about Terrys passing he was one of my favorite student teachers at MHS and he always took the the time to say high when we saw each other espacialy at the Firemans stag he was a great man and will be missed

    I was so sorry to hear of Terry’s struggles. I know it was hard to take that journey with him, but he is now beginning his final journey. I drug out my HHH annuals and read your entry that said “lets always stay in touch.” I, like many I am sure, now wish we had. Hey, it is not too late.
