Obituary

Therese (Terry) Josephine Larson, 77, Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in her winter home in Sun City, Arizona, surrounded by her family.

Terry was born on July 2, 1936 in Fargo, ND, to Clarence and Josephine (Morrow) Olson.  She spent her formidable years in Moorhead, MN and graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo in 1954.  She married Curtis Larson on December 27, 1963 and settled in north Fargo where they started a family.  Upon the loss of Curtis in 1984, she continued to raise three boys to adulthood.  She found a lifelong partner in Aldon Palmer and eventually married on July 25, 2008.

Terry worked at Northwestern Bell prior to children and transitioned to homemaker and part-time Avon lady once starting a family.  She was active in many different volunteer opportunities through the years, especially with the VFW Post 762 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  Terry and Al spent many winters in Arizona as ‘snowbirds’ and developed long lasting relationships within neighborhoods in both locations.

She is survived by her sons, David Larson of Tucson, AZ, Tim Larson of Fargo, ND, and Jeff (Robin) Larson of St. Paul, MN; her granddaughters, Rachael Anderson of Tucson, AZ, Emma and Abigail Larson and her grandson Owen Larson of St. Paul, MN; her brother Clarence (Jan) Olson of Great Falls, MT and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Curtis Larson (1984) and Al Palmer (2013).

I will always remember Terry with her coffee cup! When I worked at the Fargo VFW I don’t think she EVER came in without that cup! If she did, you knew there must have been something going on that was out of the ordinary. The Fargo VFW Ladies Auxiliary will miss her and so will I. Rest in peace Terry and I hope they have coffee in heaven!
