Thelma Luella Smith, 82, 566 42nd Street SW, Fargo, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at her home in Fargo. Thelma Luella Johnson was born December 13, 1920, in Twin Valley, MN, the daughter of James and Hilda (Elstad) Johnson. She grew up in Twin Valley, and graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1938. She worked in Twin Valley for one year, and then moved to Fargo in 1939. She graduated from Interstate Business College, and then worked for Pioneer Mutual Life and North Dakota State University Agriculture Department. She was united in marriage to Donald C. Smith on June 21, 1945, in Colorado Springs, CO. After her husband was discharged from the Army, they returned to Fargo. She worked at the Veterans Administration in Fargo, and taught piano in her home for 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Donald; four children, Donald, Columbia, Missouri, David (Kathleen), Fargo, Debra Smith, Minneapolis, and Susan Evans (Roy), Fargo; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Alma Hogan, California, and Karen ?Carol? (Elmer) Cole, Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Boulger Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Boulger Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
