    Margaret & family,

Kayleen and I extend our sympathy to each of you. Tom was a friend in the Senate for me. He always had a smile and gave me advice on any subject I asked of him. He was quick to answer anyone with some good humorous remark. He will be missed by the state, especially in all water issues. He knew more about water issues than anyone else in the state.

  16. Page ND
Margaret, we are so sorry to hear about Tom. It was such a privilege to work with Tom on water issues. Tom loved people and maintained a great sense of humor.

  17. Selfridge ND
Thoughts and prayers are with Tom’s family. I met Tom during my first session in 1999 through a non political mutual aquaintance. From that time on I considered Tom a good friend. Our political views never affected our personal relationship. Most people called us politicians but in Tom’s case he was a true Statesman. I’ll miss you Tom.

  18. My prayers go out to Tom’s family through this difficult time. I have many memories growing as Tom like my second Dad. What a wonderful man. God Bless you Tom. You will be missed.

  19. West Fargo ND
I worked with Tom through my job at Cass County. He was wonderful to deal with, funny, he listened and always had time to talk with me. I will miss him and his stories. He was a wonderful person.

  20. Fargo, ND
Margaret, it was such a shock to hear about Tom.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am sorry I will not be back in Fargo in time for the service, but I will be thinking about you all.

  21. Fargo ND
I had the privilege to know Tom the last 7 years as Chairman of the Southeast Cass Water Resource District and Cass County Joint Water Resource District. Tom had a great sense of humor and was quite the comedian. He loved to make people smile. He cared very much about the people of our community and I often witnessed him challenge the status quo for the sake of those who did not have a voice. He was a leader in the development of flood protection projects in the Red River Valley. Under his leadership, the Maple River Dam became a reality. I knew Tom to be a sentimental good hearted man and I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.

  22. We are shocked to hear about this tremendous loss. Tom was a champion for many causes and his compassion, wisdom and humor will be greatly missed. Tom had a profound impact on us and he will be greatly missed. Thanks Tom for all you did, especially for people with disabilities.

  23. Valley City, N.D
. 58072 I was privileged to serve with Sen. Fischer in the Senate for years. We both served on the Appropriations Committee. Ironically, Tom and I had a long visit on the telephone late Tuesday afternoon, just hours before his passing. We talked about many issues, including life, friendship, the North Dakota
Senate, adn the important things in life. Tom was a good friend. He was very helpful in so many ways, including providing advice on water issues. Recently, he played an important role in assisting the communities I represent in seeking flood relief funding.
We talked often and met at the Village Inn on 25th for lunch on several ocassions. He had a great sense of humor and cared deeply for his family, his state and his home town of Wahalla. Sen. Fisher will be missed by many. He was an effective State Senator, and a dedicated public servant.

  24. What a tragic loss for Fargo and North Dakota
. As has been said often of Tom, a truly good and decent man. Sincere condolences to Tom’s family.
