Obituary

Tilman C. Anderson, 81 Hillsboro passed away Sunday, June 20 in Hillsboro Medical Center, Hillsboro ND.

Tilman was born April 25, 1929 to Andrew and Christina (Haugen) Anderson in Hillsboro, ND. Tilman grew up in Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School. Upon graduation, Tilman entered the U.S. Airforce, serving as an electrical instructor during the Korean War from 1950-1954. After his service, Tilman returned to the family farm from 1954 to 1991 in Hillsboro.

Tilman married Iona (Herbeck) on December 1, 1950 in Glyndon, MN.

Tilman was a trustee of Our Saviors Lutheran Church was on the Board of Directors of Northwest Bank for 17 years.

Tilman and Iona wintered in Mesa AZ for many years. Tilman entered the Hillsboro Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in 2008.

Tilman is survived by his wife of 60 years Iona, Hillsboro ND, children; Betty (Monte) Gregoire, Grand Forks ND, Patricia (Val) Conley, Detroit Lakes MN, Les Anderson, Hillsboro ND, Larry (Sherry) Anderson, Hillsboro ND, grandchildren; Tim, Randi, Sarah, Brooke, Heather, Tyler, Mathew, Kaitlin, sister, Clara Gabrielson, Ada MN, sister-in-laws; Janet Anderson, Margaret Anderson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kenneth and Arvid, and grandson, Blake.
