Victor A. Krivarchka, age 76 of Fargo, died April 16, 2004 in his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Victor Krivarchka was born August 11, 1927 on the family farm north of Belfield, ND, the son of William and Ann (Evoniuk) Krivarchka. He grew up and attended school, graduating from Dickinson Model High School in 1945. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1949. Victor married Olga Palaniuk on June 14, 1951 in New England, ND. The couple lived in many North Dakota and South Dakota communities due to their association with Red Owl Foods. Together Victor and Olga owned and operated Vic?s Red Owl in Bowman, ND from 1966 until 1978. After their retirement, they made their home at Ottertail Lake, MN and have lived in Fargo since 1991. Victor enjoyed a wonderful work relationship with Walmart in Fargo for ten years in the hardware department. He was active in Rotary Club (Bowman, ND) and Lion?s Club (Ottertail, MN). He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan and enjoyed listening to the games while fishing for walleye with his sons, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. His daughters and daughters-in-law lavished him with their Ukranian cooking. Victor was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Fargo. He was a wonderful father and husband, and will be missed dearly by all of his colleagues, many friends and family. Memorial are preferred to the family?s favorite charity, Hospice of the Red River Valley. Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Olga; father, William; mother, Ann and sisters, Margaret and Francis. Victor is survived by his five children, Diane (Tim) Rath of Apple Valley, MN, Jean (Mike) Giese of Savage, MN, Susan (Mike) Malloy of Eagan, MN, Bill (Heidi) Krivarchka of Mayville, ND and Duane (Cheryl) Krivarchka of Lisbon, ND; 12 grandchildren; brother Ted (Bernice) Krivorouchka of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Gertrude (Gene) Kennedy of Littleton, CO, Rose (Jim) Paul of Dickinson, ND, Yvonne (Arlys) Hanson of Sterling, CO and Mary Ann Hanson of Belfield, ND. Funeral: Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Visitation: 1 hour prior to Mass at church and also Monday from 5-8 pm with prayer service at 7:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
