Viola Catherine Lovelace, 101, died Good Friday evening, April 18th, 2003, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Viola Griffin was born October 7th, 1901, the daughter of M.H. Griffin and Phoebe Griffin in Hunter, ND. Viola lived in Detroit Lakes, MN, Glyndon, MN and Dilworth, MN before moving to Fargo where she graduated from the 8th grade at Agassiz in Fargo, ND. Viola married Perry Lovelace on June 10th, 1930 at First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Fargo. She was also a member of the Ladies Circle group and participated in and supported many Church activities. Especially, the Church?s annual rummage sale. She was a dedicated volunteer for many years. Most of her volunteer efforts were at Manor Care in Fargo, ND. From 1987 to 1999 Viola had put in 1,044 volunteer hours at Manor Care. She volunteered for the elderly while she was in her 80's and 90's. She volunteered right up until she had her first stroke at age 97. Volunteering and giving to others were primary goals in Viola?s life. She is survived by her son Larry Lovelace, Fargo, ND and her grandson Michael (Debbie) Lovelace, Fargo, ND. She is preceded in death by her husband, Perry Lovelace, sister Myrtle Otterson and brother William Griffin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Boulger Funeral Home assisting with arrangements.
