Vivian R. Penner, 80, Fargo passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo.

Vivian was born March 5, 1932 in Crete, ND to Arthur and Matilda (Luttman) Bruns. She graduated from Stirum High School in 1949. She worked in Gwinner for a few months upon graduating, before attending North Dakota Normal and Industrial School at Ellendale. She taught in two different rural country schools near Stirum. Vivian married Lorrin Meyer on October 3, 1954 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Stirum. Lorrin passed away on November 6, 1970. Vivian married Abe Penner on October 28, 1971 in Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Vivian taught Sunday School for many years at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo. She loved country music, especially Allan Jackson, and dancing. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Abe; children, Monty (Judy) Meyer, Fargo, Janie (Don) Meyer Grindahl, West Fargo, Rick (Martha) Meyer, Fargo, Kevin (Mary) Meyer, Fargo, Lisa (Steve) Kimbrell, Caledonia, and Chris (Bobbi) Penner, Fargo, sister, Audrey Bruns, Gwinner,  grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla (Jason), Carmen, Nash, Zaide, Alex, Brian, Steve and Jason and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Makenzie, Jaxon, Bryce, Kasyn, and Brayden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Margie Meyer and Donald Bruns.

    Mom wants you to kown how much she would like to attend, however, she has been “under the weather” lately, and is not strong enougn to go out at this time.

  2. I was so sorry to here of the loss of Vivian…she was an awesome lady and always had did things to say. She will always have a special place in my heart. My sincere condolences to the family…she will be missed.
