Vonnie Kane

Vonnie Kane, age 59, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at her home in Fargo under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, ending a 5 ? year battle with cancer. Vonnie was born December 10, 1943, in Detroit Lakes, MN. She was the daughter of Frank and Nonie Olson. She moved to Lisbon, ND, at an early age with her parents and attended Lisbon schools, graduating in 1961. Vonnie came to Valley City following graduation and worked for the County Veterans Service Office as a secretary. Vonnie then moved to Fargo in 1987 and worked for the North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs. She was married to Milt Kane in October of 1993 in Barrett, MN, and they made their home in Fargo, ND. She retired in 1995 and enjoyed spending the winter months in their home in Mesa, AZ. Vonnie was a very dedicated Administrative Secretary for Veterans Affairs, and was also dedicated to caring for her parents who lived in Lisbon. Vonnie enjoyed doing things for people. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working with her computer, and excelled in every endeavor she attempted. She leaves to mourn her death her beloved husband, Milt; sister, Rosemary (Leroy) Adolfs, Duluth, MN; and brother, Allen (Dorothy) Olson, in North Dakota; two step daughters, Candace Kane, Fargo, and Kelly Flath (Butch), Valley City, ND; and step son, Jeff (Diane), Seattle, WA; eight step grandchildren; and one step great granddaughter; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and close relatives. She was proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers. Funeral Service: Monday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. in United Methodist Church, 1st Avenue South and 10th Street, Fargo. Visitation: Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
