What excitement there was when new people were moving to Erie so long ago. Of course, many of the adults in town knew these people, but I didn’t…and there would be two new kids in school. Wow! That was the beginning of so many happy hours going back and forth between the Rieke house and the Trego house. In fact, I remember watching the grainy footage of man’s first steps on the moon at the Rieke house. I think Warren’s main joy in life during that time was teasing us constantly, and we laughed so much. There isn’t a memory that doesn’t make me smile. How lucky we were!
Warren & Marge were friends of mine for many years. I’d stop by their place in Erie when I was traveling through and visit and later on at their residence in Fargo. Warren and I shared a common thread that bonded us in our journey. We spent a few Monday nights visiting others in hope they could find what we found. God bless both Warren & Marge on their new journey.
