Obituary

Wayne D. Bachinski, 69, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Wayne was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on June 13, 1945 to Frank and Victoria (Czerniecki) Bachinski. He attended schools in Winnipeg and joined the US Marine Corps in 1964, serving two tours in Vietnam through 1968. He then attended the University of North Dakota where he met his loving wife, Diane (McAllister) Bachinski, and they were married in 1969. Wayne became a US Citizen in 1973. He was employed 34 years by Northwestern Bell, US West and Qwest and retired in 2003.

Wayne was a very proud and supportive family man. He especially was proud of his daughter Laura’s academic achievements and enjoyed traveling and supporting his son Scott’s hockey career. Wayne and Diane enjoyed traveling across the US and Canada to attend hockey games. Wayne also enjoyed technology, taking care of his “palace” and spending time with and supporting his grandchildren, Riley and Emma, in all of their endeavors.

Wayne is survived by his wife Diane; two children Laura (Renee) Bachinski, Minneapolis, MN and Scott (Mikaela) Bachinski, Savage, MN. He was “Papa Chunk” to two amazing grandchildren, Riley and Emma Bachinski, Savage, MN.

Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be missed greatly by us all.
