Wayne H. Braasch, age 76, 1110 3rd Avenue North, Fargo, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Mr. Braasch was born April 1, 1929, to Harry and Ethel Braasch of Wimbledon, ND, where he was raised and educated. Wayne married Blanche Krubeck in Wimbledon on July 29, 1947. They lived and farmed in Wimbledon, and later owned and operated a rural cream route for the Wimbledon Creamery. They moved to Fargo in 1951. He worked for the Oliver Corporation, Branick Swedberg Implement, and owned and operated Valley Diaper Service. He was a member of the Fargo Fire Department, and after 36 years of service, he retired in 1990. They moved to Davenport in 1976, and he worked for Paul Schroeder of Schroeder Farms. They later moved back to Fargo. After retiring, they spent winters in Mesa, AZ, and summers at their lake home on Maude Lake, MN. Wayne enjoyed the summers fishing and spending time with family, his grandchildren, and friends. Wayne is survived by his wife, Blanche; two sons, Darrel (Deborah), Brooklyn Park, MN, and Steven (Debra), Fargo; four grandchildren, James (Tricia), Brooklyn Park, MN, Michael (Tina), Eagan, MN, Allison Braasch, and Eric Braasch, both of Fargo; 4 great grandchildren, Connor, Mason, Kendall, and Spencer; two brothers, Gary (Darlene), Brooklyn Center, MN, and Benny, Gilbert, AZ; a brother-in-law, Chuck Krubeck, Jamestown, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will be held in the church one hour prior to the service.
