Wayne Curtis Johnson, 70, passed away peacefully Friday, March 13, 2020 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital surrounded by family.
Wayne was born June 18, 1949 to Edwin and Charlotte (Ladwig) Johnson in Moorhead, MN. He graduated from West Fargo Highschool in 1968. Wayne married Phyllis Moseng May of 1969. He worked at numerous places including: Horace Supply, Union 76, Overvold Motors, Crown Auto, Classic Service Center, Peterson Products, and Industrial Builders. In his years of retirement, he enjoyed helping the local farmers with whatever they needed. One of the highlights of Wayne’s life was going to Africa on a Safari Trip. His hobbies included traveling with his wife, hunting, and had a mischievous imagination …and willing to use it.
Wayne is survived by his wife Phyllis; sons, Kerry of Sheridan, WY; Kelly of Kindred; grandson, Peter; siblings, Dean (Janet) of Durbin, ND, Gary (Jane) of Kindred, Rita (Drew) Aliperto of Kerrville, TX; many nieces and nephews; and his furry buddy, Chipper.
Wayne was preceded in death by parents, Charlotte and Edwin; and brothers, Larry and Lynn.

Wayne, it was just two weeks ago I saw you. We didn’t get to talk for very long. I can hardly believe this. My thoughts and prayers go out to Phyllis and the rest of your family. RIP Wayne, may God wrap his loving arms around you.
I am so sorry to hear about Wayne’s passing. It has been several years since I have seen him, but he was a great help to my husband, Hunter, and always would make you laugh. My daughter still remembers how he used to call her “kissy face” when she was little. We have such fond memories of Wayne and your family. Blessed be his memory!

Wayne was a great neighbor to my Dad, he took my Dad to many auction sales and Dad enjoyed just spending time talking and joking around with Wayne
Wayne was a funny man. He would come to the bank with some kind of meat sticks and try to get me to taste it but I never trusted him as to what kind it was. I did buy eggs from him and listened to his stories. So sorry for your loss.🙏🙏🙏

Phyllis & family, I am so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing! He was a very caring man who enjoyed and cared about people so much, he loved to visit, help & joke with you. I hope you all can find some comfort in your memories! Deepest Sympathies to you all!
I got to meet Wayne and his wife Phyllis during the time my brother Keith Ueland was suffering from lung cancer. It meant so much to me to meet and get to know Wayne and Phyliss after hearing about them from Keith. I could not have asked for a nicer man to be a friend for Keith. I am sorry to hear he passed away and it was a blessing to know him.

We will all miss Wayne, he was.a good friend-asking for nothing and willing to give anything to friends and those in need. Wayne loved to tease and make people laugh with never ending stories. I already miss Wayne and I wish that I had taken more time to hunt with him. Several of our hunting trips never materialized due to lottery failures and/or Health concerns. Bev and I also regret not spending more time with Wayne and Phyllis, but want Phyllis to know we are here for her always.

I was surprised to hear of Wayne’s passing- I remember him from Peterson Products and also he was a good friend of my stepdad, Doug Swisher. Wayne fixed my vehicle a couple of times and he always had a good sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends- He will surely be missed by many- Ruth
Wayne was a brother-in-law and good friend to Bob and I. When he was in the hospital at the end I had a dream with a bright light that God was telling me Wayne’s going to be okay and I think that’s when he accepted Wayne into heaven and I really believe that Wayne’s there in heaven waiting for all the rest of his family especially his wife Phyllis and sons and hopefully the rest of us. We will always remember him for being a good grandpa and how he cared about his old aunts and uncles and watched after all of them. God bless his memory. Jeanette and Bob Martin

Thank you Wayne for schooling me on the fine points of driving grain cart for Larry. I always liked to hear your ideas on all subjects. I thought that I would have more time to get to know you better. I will miss you. Your way is easy now that you are with your Creator and our Lord.
Phyllis, so sorry to hear about Wayne. I worked with him when farming with Larry. Wayne was a jokester, especially razzing with Larry… May he rest in peace.
