William A. Baldock passed away on January 3, 2014 after a brief battle with metastatic melanoma.

William Allen Baldock was born April 7, 1931 to Joe and Linnea (Ingnell) Baldock.  After attending school in Hunter he enlisted in the Navy.  He served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.  He went to Moler Barber College following his service in the Navy and worked alongside his father at the Baldock Barber Shop in Hunter.

He then went to work in St. Paul at Remington Rand/UNIVAC.  Bill retired to Hunter in 1999.

Bill enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical and time with family.  Bill loved a good political debate over a cup of coffee.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald.

He is survived by his sister, Joanne (Wayne) Blanchard, Fargo; sister-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Baldock, White River, SD; and nephew, Tim Blanchard, Fargo; and niece, Tami (Ralph) Blanchard Llewellyn, Fargo and their families.

Guestbook

  1. Cando ND
Billy was my first cousin. My dad (Herb) and Joe were brothers. When I lived in Mayville I had a Baldock family reunion and Billy came and brought a beautiful and delicious bakery cake! We had such a nice day and Billy enjoyed visiting with all his cousins.

My condolences on the loss of your brother and uncle. If there was a funeral card made up I would appreciate one for my family album.

    Thank you,
    Irene Baldock Swenson

  2. Hunter North Dakota
So sorry to read about Billy. It just seemed like last week that we visited. We send our sincere sympathy.

  3. Hunter ND
Our condolences to Bill’s family – our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time.

  4. Fargo North Dakota
You perhaps don’t know me, but I am Lois Hovden’s sister and she has often spoken of her friends, Joanne and Wayne Blanchard, so I feel your loss as does she. It is not easy saying a final good-bye to someone we love, but knowing that is what God has planned for each of us, may you find comfort in the knowledge that Bill has answered God’s call and waits with his parents for a family reunion in the future.

  5. Fargo, ND
    Joanne and family,

We are so sorry to learn of Billy’s death. The last few years we really enjoyed visiting with him at the senior meals at the Hunter Cafe. He will be missed. It was Great having the Baldocks as our neighbors. Our sincere sympathy,

    John and Karen

  6. Fargo North Dakota
Our sympathy to Joann, Wayne, and families. I was surprised that Bill had
been hospitalized and in the Fargo Manor.
Everyone will miss Bill coming to the
Hunter Cafe to eat and visit with the
    people.

    Take care, Love and Prayers!
