William Gilson Fargo, North Dakota William Gilson passed away on Friday, September 17, 2004, at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo at the age of 79. William was born on December 22, 1924, in Cleveland, Oklahoma where he graduated from High School in 1942. After his schooling, he entered the United States Navy, Submarine Service. While he was in the service he met Lena Bosch in California. After his discharge they were married on May 30, 1946 in Pawaska, Oklahoma. They lived in Cleveland and worked with his parents in a restaurant. They moved to Fargo and Bill worked at Independent Meats for 251/2 years. Then he started working at Fargo Packing until his retirement in 1986. Bill and Lena were charter members of Holy Spirit Church and he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and in numerous church activities. In retirement he enjoyed working with antiques, playing pool, hunting, fishing and had a great love of music. William is survived by his loving wife, Lena of Fargo; his children, Michael (Michelle) Gilson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and Barbara (John Olson) Gilson of Hawley, Minnesota; and grandsons, Matthew, Christopher, and Jon Michael Gilson. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
