William Vetter

Bill passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his home in Fargo at the age of 75.
Bill, also known to family as "Willie", was born on October 16, 1935, the son of Michael and Mary (Schumacher) Vetter in Logan County, near Napoleon, ND. He grew up in this area and received his education. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea. Following his discharge he returned to North Dakota. Bill was united in marriage to Rosina Masseth on July 28, 1962, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon. They made their home in Fargo where Bill worked for many years at the Fargo Housing Authority. He tried retiring a few times, however, always found another job or two that kept him busy. Bill loved spending his days in the yard feeding the birds and gardening. His greatest joys in life were his family, especially the grandkids.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rose; his children - Paula (Anthony) Hirchert, William (Melissa) Vetter, Troy (Carrie) Vetter, Paul (Kristine) Vetter, all of Fargo; and Michaelene (Linda Jorgenson) Boe and Glenn Vetter, both of Wylie, TX; and 18 grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings - Msgr. Wendelyn Vetter, Clarence (Betty) Vetter, Jim (Ardis) Vetter, Daniel (Vivian) Vetter, Mary Ann (Cy) Votava, Loretta (Roger) Rasmussen; sister-in-law, Diane Vetter; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike.

So so sorry to read about the passing of your father, and loving husband, grandfather, uncle, and a friend to all who knew him! He always worked very hard, and always did his BEST!!
I will always remember him for the “BIG SMILE” he gave everyone of us when he saw us, all the friendly “HI”‘s and “How are you today? Do you need help with anything?” I remember him offering to help me with my Math homework when he would be doing matience in our Housing House. ALways knew how to make each and every person feel like they were special.
He is now resting in Heaven, Rest in Peace Bill!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember going to your parents home in the summer, grilling and playing with the kids in the yard. It was such a good time for all of us, good memories that last a life time. You are all very blessed to have such a lovely family, and we are all blessed that you shared them with us. Cherish the memories and all the good years you had with Willie.
When I was going to school at St. Anthony’s Middle School, Willie was always there with a smile and a warm hug. It was heart-breaking to read of his death. Prayers and Blessings to all of his family during this time.
