Zelda Laverne (Gilbertson) Zimmerman passed away Thursday, May 14, at her home in Philomath, Oregon. Zelda was born February 1, 1946, to Bennie and Alma (Stockstad) Gilbertson of Kindred, North Dakota.  She graduated from Kindred High School in 1964 and earned a degree in Home Economics from NDSU in 1968 and later, a masters degree from Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kansas.  She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Phi Upsilon Omicron Honorary Society.     She was married to Gary Zimmerman in 1971. Zelda was a member of Kindred Lutheran Church and  was an active member of the Kindred Rosebuds 4-H Club.  After college, she was employed by the State Extension Service in New York and later in Kansas. She moved to Corvallis, Oregon, in 1977 where she obtained two additional masters degrees and worked as a graduate research assistant at Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Zelda enjoyed world traveling with her Oregon friends and visiting her childhood  friends in North Dakota and Minnesota.  She was an exceptionally kind person,  loved and respected by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include her many friends in Oregon and Minnesota/North Dakota. Memorials:  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the North Dakota 4-H Foundation.
