Levyna Stenberg
October 10, 1915 ~ March 9, 2012
Levyna (Vina) Stenberg, 96, passed away March 9, 2012 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo. Levyna was born October 10, 1915 on a farm near Kindred to Albert T. Hanson and Anna Margaret Hanson (Hovelson). She had two sisters, Christine and Myrtle, and two brothers, Gordon and Lloyd. The Hanson family moved to Fargo in 1920. Levyna was raised and educated in Fargo. She was employed as a seed analyst at NDSU and Newday Seed Company. Levyna was briefly married to Robert Nystrom. In 1946 she married Knute Stenberg who passed away in 2001. They farmed in the Kindred area for 20 years before moving to Fargo in 1966. She is survived by her four children, LaVonne Appert (Eugene, OR), Richard Nystrom (Fargo, ND), Sandra Flagstad (Minot, ND), and Susan Richards (Springfield, OR); eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Levyna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother totally devoted to her home and family and cherished by all who knew her.
