Dorothy “Dot” M. Renner, 83, passed away in the presence of family August 19, 2018 at her residence in Fargo.
Dorothy was born July 23, 1935 to Leo Sr. and Helen (Tuck) Bettels in Mahnomen, Minnesota. She spent most of her life on the farm in Mahnomen and worked several summers at White Earth Lake Boys Camp. After graduating high school in 1953, she moved to Fargo where she worked at Dakota National Bank. Dorothy married Tony October 22 ,1956 in Mahnomen, MN. She was a stay at home mom until the children were grown and then worked for Mathison’s Art and Drafting Supplies. Dorothy loved to read, golf, spend winters in Arizona, do crossword puzzles, and spend time surrounded by her family. She was known for her beautiful calligraphy, making greeting cards, and writing letters to family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Tony; children, Karen (Kevin) Donahue, Keith Renner, Nancy (Rick) Bock, Donna (Bryan) Ackley; grandchildren, Brandon (Tessa Hansen) Donahue, Elizabeth (Troy Anderson) Donahue, Andrea (Daniel) Green, Matthew Donahue, Courtney Donahue, Nicole Bock, Laura (Dan) Kendall, Joshua Bultman, Christopher Bultman; great grandchildren, Eli and Peter Donahue, Sam and Holden Mitzel; brother, Leo F. Jr. (Carol) Bettels; and brother-in-law, Bud Lies.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Wilber (Evelyn) Bettels, Mary Bettels, and Virginia “Ginger” Lies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the John Paul II Catholic Schools Network, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or Casa de Paz HOA memorial fund.

Tony and Family, Dorothy was such a kind and thoughtful person, never saying a bad word about anyone. I am so happy to have known her for over forty years, enjoying so many years of golfing vacations in CA with all the Birthday Bash group and then spending our winters in the same community as the two of you, So many fun times together, great memories.
Hi Nancy,I am sad about your mom. I remember her as a great girl scout leader (I have pics to prove it). She was a lovely lady and always kept you and me and some others in check(Mary Moran) Your mom always knew what was the best for all and I loved that about her.
