Katherine Louise Ebert, age 64, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 at Evergreens Assisted Living in Moorhead, MN under the care of Hospice. Kathy was born on January 17, 1954 in Moorhead to Clarence and Dolores Ebert. She spent the first year and a half of her life in the home of Cleo and Marguerite Garrison in Barnesville, MN. She was then moved to various state schools in Minnesota until being placed in the Smith Group Home in Frazee, MN in 1974. She lived there until the group home closed in September of 2017 at which time she moved into Evergreens Assisted Living. Kathy was a friend to many and enjoyed working at the Becker County DAC for many years. She was also employed by Zorba’s and Pro Systems in Detroit Lakes, MN. She also enjoyed her volunteer position at the library in Detroit Lakes once a week. She loved to go out to eat at her favorite restaurant, Perkins, when her family was in town. This was always followed by shopping for treats to share with her housemates and a trip to the city park. Kathy is survived by her brother, Paul (Rosemary) Ebert of Fargo, ND; three nephews, Scott (Ally) Ebert of Iowa City, Iowa; Tom (Kristi) Ebert of Maplewood, MN; and Kirby Ebert of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Dolores Ebert. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2 pm at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro in the Spring.

  1. I had the honor of working with Kathy for four years. Kathy was so sweet and lovable. I adored her personality and how she liked to give out a hug, a kiss on the cheek, or hold hands when she was happy. Such a smiley woman with joy in her voice. I loved taking her to BINGO and helping her count out her pennies. I’ve missed her and am heart broken to hear of her passing. I’m thankful she went peacefully. My thoughts are with her surviving family. Lots of love.

  2. Oh Miss Kathy, you will surely be missed by me!! I have missed you everyday since the group home closed. High fly angel!! Love you!!
