Donna (Smith) Ugland, 85, Fargo, ND died March 22, in her home peacefully surrounded by her family after a several month battle with myelodyplastic syndrome. Donna Smith Ugland was born April 28, 1933 to Earl & Ila Smith in Conde, SD. She graduated from Brentford High School and attended Aberdeen Business School. On April 8th, 1953 Donna was united in marriage to George Ugland in SD. Donna worked various jobs in the different cities as she and George followed their careers. Donna so enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting/school events, family camping, the many family reunions on the home farm in Conde, playing bridge, golfing, Saturday coffee with her friends at Red River Coffee, tending to daycare children at a local day care, gardening and of course watching Bison football games with her friends at River Square Apartments along with the potluck dinners. Donna will be greeted in heaven by her husband George, grand-daughter Charity Mae, Mother Ila and father Earl, sister Doris, brothers Gene, Bob, Richard, Gerry and Wayne. Donna was very devoted to faith, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many faithful friends including Mert Engelhardt and Marie Bellerud (AKA the “Three Musketeers”). Donna is survived by her children Curt (Denise) Ugland of Bismarck, ND, Cindy (Mike) Hubbard of Green Valley, AZ, Judy (Gary) Kubalak of Fargo, ND, and Lisa (Mike) Davis of Santa Monica, CA. Six grand-children (Stephanie, Bjorn, Summer Lynn, Isaac, McKenna and Jack). Five great-grandchildren (Gabe, Corrina, Petra, Penny and Milo) & one brother Floyd Smith. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roger Maris Cancer Center Survivorship in memory of Donna.

It was a beautiful reminder to my family about the importance of relationship when we saw Donna so many times attending the events of her grandchildren.
