Clayton Brown

Clayton Andrew Brown, 79, Leonard, ND passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Sanford Health in Fargo. He was one of the “Brown Quadruplets” born on February 6, 1941 to Nick and Ella (Zick) Brown in Fargo, ND.
Clayton attended school in Leonard graduating in 1960. After high school, he worked on the farm with his father. Later, he formed a partnership with his brother, Cleo, and they farmed together for many years. Clayton retired in 2016.
After retiring from farming, he bought a John Deere Gator and enjoyed driving around seeing what was happening in the area.
Clayton served on the board of directors for Watson Township for several years. He enjoyed volunteering for the Leonard fire department. Being elected fire chief was one of the greatest honors of his life. He was still serving on the fire district’s board of directors at the time of his passing.
Clayton is survived by his siblings, Connie Nennig, Pat (Walter) Porgorzelski, James (Laverne) Brown; sister-in-law, Arla “Penny” Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jerry Brown, Clair Brown, Cleo Brown, Hank Wulff and Dean Wulff; and niece, Jaime Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his healthcare teams at Sanford Health, Sanford Dialysis, and Sanford Hospice House.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel, Kindred with a visitation one hour prior.
He was a great friend.

I will miss the rides with him in the gator was a heck of a nice guy!

I Came to know the Brown’s at a midpoint in their lives.
Clayton and Cleo gave much to the Leonard community and asked nothing in return!
I was on the fire department with them and saw the generosity of both often!
I did consider both to be friends and will member them with fond memories the rest of my life!
